Our Generation

Hello Everyone,

Recently we have seen a lot of ways in which technology will impact communication and the business world in general. We saw PlugnPlay where ideas launch, we read books for Customer about Wikinomics and we have seen the newest from Google with online chatting, documents and wikis.

My question to you is where will technology be with when we are our parents age? Will we have Scotty beam us to the next office meeting across the globe like he did in Star Trek? Will we talk to people using holographic images like in Star Wars? Will we skate to work on hover-boards like in Back to Future?

I used to think this stuff was way off, but the more I think about it, I don't think these technologies are out of our league anymore. After all, consider what our parents have seen; a man on the moon, cell phones, and Nintendo to name a few.

What technologies will you be using to communicate when you are 45-50 years old....

Ok I am going to answer my own question!

I think that everything electronic will be connected through a main media device. You will be able to control everything in your home from your phone, pc all from something the size of a watch on your wrist.

Everything will be video. You will send receive and watch all communications via video and it will all be over the wireless Internet.

I dont think there will be SUVs instead there will be little smart cars or minis that travel on hydrogen and will be virtually free to drive and operate without polluting the environment. Personal aircraft will not be exclusive to the wealthy, rather it will be open to everyone as the price of hydrogen technology plummets and you will be able to literally fly across the country for dinner in NY at your favorite restaurant.

Most importantly, I think there will be a significant reduction in different languages and the human race will converge on a single language. There will be speakers of previously country and nation specific languages, but their numbers will be decreasing.

Anybody agree or disagree???
